The first ever Holiday in the Muck!
The 2024 summer season has brought something quite unique: the first edition of “Holiday in the Muck” at the 140-hectare Centaurus resort in Modlimowo on the Baltic Sea. Running from July 15 to August 11, this innovative initiative combines the pleasure of a vacation with active help for animals and environmental education.
How do we have fun?
During the ongoing edition of “Holiday in the Muck,” participants have the opportunity to experience unforgettable moments. The daily care of horses becomes the centerpiece of the project. Guests not only engage in routine tasks, but also build deep relationships with our four-legged friends.
During the vacation, participants learn the principles of permaculture, taking an active role in growing plants and preparing meals in the spirit of zero waste. Cooking and tasting 100% plant-based meals together, prepared with local, seasonal ingredients, enriches their experience and contributes to greater environmental awareness.
The program offers a variety of activities, from childhood games, handicrafts and animations, to workshops on working with horses. Every participant, regardless of age, finds something to enjoy.
Without the use of electronics, the vacation promotes a return to the roots, allowing participants to have deeper interpersonal relationships and get closer to nature. Enjoying the simple pleasures of life is a key part of this unique adventure.
What’s next?
Although the first edition of “Holiday in the Muck” is slowly coming to an end, this does not mean that our activities stop. On the contrary, we are in the process of planning the next editions of this unique project in our Happy Animal Homes. Our goal is to create 200 such centers around the world, which will not only be places of support for animals, but also spaces for education and collective action.
